Wash and trim broccoli and asparagus. Steam or microwave until tender-crisp (5-7 minutes). Set aside.
Season the Proteins:
Sprinkle salt and pepper evenly on fish and steak (or chicken).
Cook the Fish:
Heat 1/2 tablespoon olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Cook fish 3-4 minutes per side, until it flakes easily with a fork. Remove and set aside.
Cook the Steak (or Chicken):
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon olive oil.
Cook steak 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or cook chicken until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest for a few minutes.
Prepare Garlic Butter:
Melt butter in the skillet over low heat.
Add minced garlic, cooking 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice.
Combine & Serve:
Toss the steamed vegetables in the garlic butter until coated.
Serve fish and steak (or chicken) alongside the vegetables, drizzled with the remaining garlic butter sauce.
