Old-Fashioned Custard Pie: Creamy, Classic, and Comforting

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Custard Filling:
In a medium bowl, whisk together beaten eggs, sugar, and salt.
Stir in vanilla extract. Gradually add milk while continuing to whisk until smooth.

Assemble the Pie:
Pour the custard mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
Sprinkle the ground nutmeg evenly over the top.

Bake:
Place the pie in the preheated oven. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the custard is set and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

Cool:
Allow the pie to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. This helps the custard set fully and enhances the flavor.

Serve:
Slice and enjoy as is, or top with a dollop of whipped cream for an extra touch of indulgence.
