Ginger
Planting:
Use a fresh, plump ginger rhizome with visible “eyes” or buds.
Cut into 2–3 inch pieces if large, making sure each piece has at least one bud.
Plant in rich, well-draining soil about 2 inches deep, with buds facing upward.
Care:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Place in partial shade; direct sunlight can scorch young shoots.
Fertilize monthly with organic compost or balanced liquid fertilizer.
Harvest:
Ginger is ready to harvest in 8–10 months when leaves turn yellow and start drying.
Carefully dig up the rhizomes, leaving some to regrow for the next season.
