Fresh Pickled Cucumber Salad

In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced cucumbers and onions.

Make the Pickling Liquid:
In a small saucepan, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.

Combine:
Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cucumber and onion slices. Stir well to coat evenly.

Cool & Refrigerate:
Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld.

Serve:
Garnish with chopped fresh dill if desired. Enjoy as a refreshing snack or a side dish with your favorite meals.
