Easy & Nostalgic Pizza Burgers: A Retro Comfort Food Mashup

Step 1: Prepare the Burger Patties

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Step 2: Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until fully cooked (internal temperature 160°F / 71°C). Remove from heat and let rest.

Step 3: Toast the Buns

Spread butter lightly on the insides of the buns. Toast on a skillet or under a broiler until golden brown.

Step 4: Assemble Pizza Burgers

Place cooked patty on the bottom bun.

Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of pizza sauce over the patty.

Add a generous layer of mozzarella and a sprinkle of Parmesan.

Top with pepperoni, olives, or peppers if desired.

Place under a broiler for 1–2 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles.

Cover with top bun, garnish with fresh basil, and serve hot.
