This bubbling up of surface happens to every microwave I have owned. What am I doing wrong.

Choose a bowl that’s 1.5–2 times larger than the volume of liquid you’re heating.

Lower Power & Longer Time

Heat at 70–80% power instead of full power.

Pause and stir every 30–60 seconds for even heating.

Cover Properly

Use a microwave-safe lid or paper towel, leaving a small vent for steam to escape.

Stir Before and During Heating

Stirring distributes heat and prevents hotspots that cause bubbling.

Add a Wooden Spoon

Placing a wooden spoon across the top of the container can sometimes prevent liquids from boiling over.

✅ Extra Tip: Superheated liquids (like water or milk) can “explode” when disturbed. Stirring frequently and using lower power reduces this risk and prevents the microwave from a messy overflow.
