Sweet & Tangy Aronia Jam

Rinse the aronia berries and remove any stems or leaves. If using frozen berries, thaw before cooking.

2. Cook the Berries

In a large saucepan, combine the berries, sugar, lemon juice, and water (if needed). Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.

3. Simmer

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20–30 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. The berries will soften and release their juices.

4. Mash or Blend

Use a potato masher for a chunky jam or an immersion blender for a smoother texture.

5. Thicken (Optional)

If you prefer thicker jam, stir in pectin according to the package instructions, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

6. Jar and Store

Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving ½ inch of headspace. Seal and let cool to room temperature. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or process in a water bath for longer shelf life.
