Southern Tomato Cracker Salad

In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes and chopped green onions.

In a separate small bowl, mix mayonnaise with sugar (if using), salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Pour the dressing over the tomatoes and onions, stirring gently to coat evenly.

Just before serving, fold in the crushed saltine crackers to retain their crunch.

Serve immediately as a side dish, appetizer, or light lunch.
