Say Goodbye to Fruit Flies in 4 Minutes

Pour about 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar into the bowl or jar. ACV’s sweet, fruity smell attracts fruit flies immediately.

2. Add Dish Soap

Add 2–3 drops of liquid dish soap to the vinegar. This breaks the surface tension, so the flies sink and cannot escape.

3. (Optional) Cover with Plastic Wrap

If you want a more contained trap, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and poke a few small holes. Fruit flies can enter but struggle to leave.

4. Set the Trap and Wait

Place the trap where you see the most fruit fly activity. In as little as 4 minutes, you’ll start to see fruit flies getting trapped in the vinegar.
