Peel the onions and chop them into small pieces.
Blend or Crush:
Use a blender or mortar and pestle to crush the onions into a fine paste.
Heat the Oil:
In a small saucepan, combine the coconut oil and castor oil (if using).
Add the onion paste and gently heat over low flame for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil.
Cool and Strain:
Allow the mixture to cool completely.
Strain through a fine mesh or cheesecloth to remove solid particles, collecting the infused oil in a clean container.
Optional Fragrance:
Add a few drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil to reduce the strong onion smell and enhance the aroma.
Storage:
Store the oil in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. It can last up to 2–3 weeks.
How to Use
Apply a small amount of the oil to your scalp and massage gently for 5–10 minutes.
Leave it on for at least 1 hour or overnight for maximum benefit.
Wash your hair with a mild shampoo and condition as usual.
Use 2–3 times a week for best results.
