This is effective for stubborn yellowing and is commonly called the “Retrobright” method.
You’ll Need:
Hydrogen peroxide (3–12% solution)
Plastic wrap or a clear container
Gloves and safety glasses
Brush or sponge
Steps:
Clean the plastic thoroughly with soap and water.
Apply hydrogen peroxide evenly over the yellowed areas.
Cover with plastic wrap or place under a clear container to keep it moist.
Place in direct sunlight or under a UV lamp for 1–3 hours.
Check progress periodically. Once satisfied, rinse and dry.
2. Baking Soda & Water Paste
A gentler approach for mild yellowing.
Steps:
Mix baking soda with water to make a thick paste.
Apply the paste to the yellowed areas.
Let it sit for 30–60 minutes.
Scrub gently with a soft brush or cloth.
Rinse thoroughly and dry.
