Only bleach white socks—never colored socks, as bleach will remove the dye and damage the fabric.
2. Pre-Treat Stains (Optional)
For stubborn stains, make a paste of baking soda and water, or rub a bit of liquid detergent directly on the stain. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
3. Prepare Bleach Solution
Fill a large bowl or sink with warm water (enough to fully submerge your socks).
Add ¼ cup of bleach per gallon of water. Stir to mix.
4. Soak the Socks
Submerge the socks completely in the solution.
Let them soak for 5–10 minutes for light stains or up to 30 minutes for heavily soiled socks. Do not exceed 30 minutes, as bleach can weaken the fabric.
5. Rinse Thoroughly
Remove socks from the bleach solution.
Rinse under cold running water until all bleach is washed out.
6. Wash Normally
Wash the socks in the washing machine with mild detergent.
Dry as usual, either in a dryer or air-dried.
