Homemade Meatballs with Creamy Mashed Potatoes – A Classic Comfort Meal

Soak the bread roll in milk until soft. Squeeze out excess milk and crumble the bread into a mixing bowl.

Make the Meatball Mixture:
Add minced meat, chopped onion, mustard, salt, and pepper to the bread. Mix thoroughly until evenly combined. Form the mixture into medium-sized meatballs.

Cook the Meatballs:
Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry meatballs until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8–10 minutes depending on size. Remove from pan and keep warm.

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
Boil the chopped potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot. Mash with butter and gradually add milk until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve:
Plate a generous portion of mashed potatoes and top with warm meatballs. Spoon pan juices or gravy over the top if desired.
