Homemade Apple Slab Pie

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out one portion of dough and place it in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.

Spread apple filling evenly over the crust. Dot with butter if using.

Roll out second portion of dough and cover the apples. Trim and crimp edges to seal.

Brush top with beaten egg and sprinkle sugar over it.

Bake:

Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

If the edges brown too quickly, cover with foil halfway through baking.

Cool & Serve:

Allow pie to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips & Variations:

Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for a more complex flavor.

Add a dash of lemon juice to the filling to enhance freshness.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
