Ingredients
For the Chili:
1 lb (450g) ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter version)
1 large onion, diced
3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), diced
2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to heat preference)
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 cups beef broth (or chicken/vegetable broth)
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cumin
½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
