Grandma’s Simple Sponge Cake

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla until smooth.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Incorporate: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until fully combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Bake: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
