Combine Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Mix Wet and Dry – Add the dry mixture to the butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
Bake – Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve – Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
