Classic Fried Egg Sandwich

Step 1 – Prepare the Bread

Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Toast the slices of sourdough bread until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.

Step 2 – Cook the Egg

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter.

Crack the egg into the pan and cook to your preferred doneness:

Sunny side up: cook without flipping until the white is set but the yolk remains runny.

Over easy/medium: carefully flip after whites are set and cook briefly.

Season with salt and pepper.

Step 3 – Assemble the Sandwich

Place the fried egg on one slice of toasted bread.

Add optional toppings like cheese, avocado, or tomato slices.

Top with the second slice of bread.

Step 4 – Serve

Serve immediately while warm. Perfect with a side of fresh fruit or a hot cup of coffee.
