Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Spread half the bread cubes evenly into the dish.
2. Make the Mascarpone Layer
In a small bowl, combine mascarpone, powdered sugar, and lemon zest until smooth.
Dollop this mixture over the first layer of bread.
Sprinkle half the blueberries on top.
3. Add Remaining Bread & Blueberries
Layer the rest of the bread cubes over the mascarpone mixture.
Sprinkle remaining blueberries evenly on top.
4. Make the Custard
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
Pour the custard evenly over the bread and fruit, pressing gently so the bread absorbs the mixture.
5. Chill (Optional but Best)
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for deeper flavor.
6. Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and custard is set.
7. Serve
Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup.
